There are weekends for doing things. And then there are weekends for disappearing for a while.
The Hydeaway is our peaceful countryside lodge, created for slow mornings, long walks, pub lunches, evenings curled up under a blanket and that wonderful feeling of having nowhere else you need to be.
Set in beautiful Lancashire countryside, the lodge has sweeping views stretching from Pendle Hill to Winter Hill, with lovely walks straight from the door and country pubs waiting to be discovered nearby.
Come for the countryside. Stay because you don’t particularly want to leave.
The space
Inside, we’ve tried to create somewhere that feels warm, comfortable and properly looked after rather than simply somewhere to sleep.
The living space is made for relaxing: settle onto the sofa with a coffee and a book, put your feet up after a long walk, open a bottle in the evening or curl up under a throw when the Lancashire weather inevitably decides to join your holiday. 😂
We’ve added the little things we appreciate when we go away ourselves — good coffee, soft furnishings, warm lighting and thoughtful touches that make arriving feel easy.
The kitchen gives you the option of cooking when you fancy staying in, while plenty of nearby pubs and places to eat mean you absolutely don’t have to.
And outside, you’ve got the countryside.
Proper countryside.
Big skies, far-reaching views and walks you can start without getting into the car.
Come here to…
Wake slowly and have coffee without looking at the clock.
Pull your boots on and walk straight from the lodge.
Find a country pub and accidentally stay for another drink.
Come home, get cosy and watch the sun disappear across the hills.
Read the book you’ve been carrying around for three months.
Talk.
Sleep.
Or spend an entire afternoon doing precisely nothing.

The Hydeaway particularly suits couples looking for a quiet weekend together, whether that’s a romantic escape, a walking break or simply a couple of days away from everyday life.
It’s comfortable enough that staying in feels like part of the holiday rather than a wasted day.
And when you do want to explore, you’re beautifully placed for discovering the surrounding Lancashire countryside and villages.

This isn’t an anonymous holiday let.
It’s somewhere we love spending time ourselves, and we’re preparing it for guests in exactly the same way we’d want somewhere prepared for us.
